I looooove this game. I love these survival type games. This reminds me of Don’t Starve but everything Don’t Starve should be and a fraction of the price. This game has so much potential to me. For $2.99 this game is a steal. This game could easily be a $10+ game if a few changes were made. I think if the story got a little more diverse, (not just shutting down towers) the maps got a little more diverse, more types of weapons (different models of machine guns and rifles, sniper, grenades, etc), the shooting got more involved (ability to scope and such), more vehicles available to build and have them be reusable (bike, propeller glider, saddled horse, etc), ability to sprint, maybe upgraded graphics (not neccessary and I really like the physics), mulitple characters in the game you have to work with or combat, ability to befriend wild animals and keep them as gaurd animals would be cool, this game could easily be $10+ and no one would blink. I think this style of game has a whole lot of potential and I really hope a sequel is made or a different game of same style is made. I love these survival games. They remind of first person shooters but wayyyy more involved. Love Love Love this game major props Atypical Games. Well done Plleeaaase make more! You’ve definately got a customer here for any more releases of this type. EDIT: All of the above is still true but I do notice some glitches. Occasionally if I’ve been playing a while the game will crash and I’ll lose a slight amount of save data. Also if I start reloading the game after these crashes after a little while buttons will malfunction, i.e.: left mouse button will open the journal, clicking on a resource will open it’s information page, inventory button will open crafting page. Restarting my computer has always fixed this so far.

This is not an action game. Just checking it out briefly, it’s already intriguing. The user has to collect items and build a bunch of stuff, like weapons and shelter. This is not easy. The first basic tools are no use for hunting or defending against the occasional zombie. Luckily, the zombies dont seem to be able to get into any (or some) of the buildings. Beware of nighttime: All of a sudden, my character was freezing and couldnt keep warm. Complete darkness set in, and I had no light. My food was running out quickly. I jumped into the first heat source, which turned out to be a radiated room. Compatibility with El Capitan: On the first attempt, the mouse cursor was missing. Reopening the game took care of that.

Man, I was waitng this game for mac version!!!! And it did came out!!!! No complaints about this game!!!!!

I havent gotten very far in this one, It turned out to be alot more in depth than I was expecting - theres a crafting element to the game, and an underlying storyline with different tidbits to discover/uncover along the way. At this point I cant say Ive played it long enough to give it a fair review, but from what Ive seen, and since the game was ONLY THREE DOLLARS I really cant see any reason not to give it 5 stars. It reminds me of games that cost $50 on consoles. I dont know if this $3 price is an intro deal or what, but at this price, and from this developer (whos other games have gotten great reviews) Its kind of a must have.

i launched the game and i get greeted by this horrible loud dzzzzzzz sound for the whole tutorial when the gamecenter shows up to sign in over all i love the graphics and mechanics but i just cant enjoy it without the sounds

I gave it four stars instead of five because I recently bought this game for my macbook pro and tried to connect my PS4 controller. When I tried customizing the gamepad with my PS4 controller, I couldn’t get the game to use the left analog stick to move the camera of my character up, or down, just left and right. The character just looks to the sky. This was my only issue, and the mouse and keyboard controls work perfectly, just not the gamepad with a PS4 controller.

Can’t play without this option. My brain is trained a certain way. Please add (as I see the ios version has this option!) so I can play and write a real review.

great game. very addicting. well well worth 3 dollars even 30. my first four star rating. excellent. updates will only make it better.

This game has an interesting premise and a truly awesome potential to be somethiing great and very playable. Unfortunately it suffers from a very poor user interface-no configuration menu of any kind, which would be useful to configure the mouse and movement keys (they are AWSD, not arrow keys) and the mouse look direction is hard-coded-an invert mouse look would be nice. Also missing is any kind of documentation, even from the authors’ website. If they could make the game a bit more configurable and user-friendly, this could be a hit. And ditch the cheesy Star Trek sound effects.

Upon opening the game for the first time, my ears exploded as an INSANELY LOUD BUZZING NOISE blasted through my headphones set at MINIMUM SOUND. After closing and reopening, there was no audio at all, so I just went with it and played the tutorial. Game seems interesting enough, graphics are okay for the price, mechanics are a little touchy but acceptable. However, after opening a third time and getting the loud noise again, I just gave up on this app. It runs fine with the exception of the audio, so if that’s not an issue for you go right ahead and play with volume off on your computer. Until it is fixed however, I would stay away. Seriously, when you start the app, have your volume off and gradually turn it up to make sure there is no buzzing. It is an actual health hazard that could damage your ear drums and blow out speakers. On the lowest volume settings the noise was loud enough to cause pain. For reference I have a 13-inch, mid 2012 MacBook Pro running Yosemite with 8GB Ram. I’ve never had any issue like this before, even with more intensive games like XCOM, Deus Ex HR, etc.

Played it for a few hours. This game is great and is easily the best game I’ve ever played for less that $10. Graphics are fine, gameplay is good enough, and the story is fairly interesting and the island has tons of places to explore and things to find/kill. However, i put about 5 hours into the game and had everything upgraded and a full inventory of the best weapons/tools/food, and it force quit out of nowhere on me and DELETED ALL MY INVENTORY AND UPGRADES. It respawned me in the same part of the map that I was when it force quit, but with NOTHING in my inventory (had well over 20 items), NO ARMOR (had the best kind of most pieces of armor), and my backpack only had 5 slots again when I had upgraded it to level 4. I’m on a 2014 MacBook Pro (16GB, i7), and running OS Yosemite, which was the newest OS when this game was released. I understand its the first release but my progress shouldn’t all be erased after a force quit on this hardware and OS version. I was in love with this game but it’ll be hard to play again until its updated for fear of losing all my hard work again. FIX THIS ISSUE NOW.

I was very intrigued by this app, bought it, played it, fell in love with it, but am coming to hate it. I have lost everything I built, scavenged, saved and fought for, three times now. I have been playing less than a week and every couple of days I have to start over from scratch again! VERY annoying and frustrating! Great concept, but the glitches are bad!

After waiting weeks and being hesitant on buying this game first problem i run into is an awful screeching noise on the lowest volume level on my iMac, only way to stop it is to turn off the volume. and the controls are rough and and sketchy at times. I want my money back…… Very irritated.

I’ve hit every key on my board and I can’t get it to bring up any settings menu of any kind. I got a journal and was trying to click through my graphics settings and nothing was happening and now I can’t figure out how to reopen the journal. What is going on here??

Look everyone, i have always prided myself on how i view games, even if i dont like the game i can see how people may like it, and i am taking the time to review it. IF the stars to this game is 1 star or low stars because of some glitch with downloading or somthing i can understand; if you EMAIL THE COMPANY not only will they fix it, but you can experience THE BEST gameplay for the price and this game is incrediblhy cool. I have only written a review for a few games, but i read the reviews on this game and i said “how is this game THIS cool, ‘haha’ no way a 3$ game is this good." I am here to tell you, i get it. They took minecraft and made a game for mature gamers. This is an open world explorer game, and i was surprised on not only how big this game was but how much they put into it. This WITHOUT A DOUBT will dominate the world of phone and computer gaming in this kind of genre. Sure if you played Dying light on Xbox one you could say “This isnt as good”, understand the price and the game and this is AMAZING. This game will change the standard that all games will have to meet. AMAZING 5*

So, I bought this game on my iPad because it looked amazing. Which I do far more than I’d like to admit. Anyway, it was actually as cool as I hoped it would it would be. Just like almost every iPad game I get, it got deleted due to space constraints because I am obsessive and have purchased every decent and crap game the App Store has offered. It is really a rather sick habit. SO…A few months later I found the game being advertised on the Mac App Store for several dollars cheaper than I paid for the mobile version. You bet I bought it. THEN, I played for hours and hours. Even through the first hour of “huh? I don’t get it …” I play much more and start to get quite good at it then BAM! BOOM! I TELEPORT? to another island shaped like the toxic symbol and I surrounded by protective HAZMAT gear wearing goons with guns who are much higher level than me. I had objectives and “quests” I was in the middle of. What the heck happened to those? Where am I? Why am I not where I was? I was just trying to melt down ores to make different metals for bullets and what not… THAT is what I was getting used to. You can’t just up and throw me into another world completely different from the one I am in. That being said, I had the buzzing noise everyone was getting. I thought I was just going crazy because I hadn’t slept the night because. Great game, but even if what happened to me was suppose to happen, a warning would have made me a happier gamer. A little glitchy at times but all in all a friggin amazing game. ESPECIALLY for THREE FRIGGIN DOLLAR$! I will change my rating to a 5 when I get some help figuring out why my game was lost to a different path and when at least a few of the bigger glitches are taken care of. Anyone read these things? I’m personally tired from looking at all the words I typed. I don’t even want to start re-reading for idiot spelling and grammar mistakes. Buy the game, it is still worth it even if I had to stop at the point I made it. $3 … Seriously! Update: LOL, It IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN when I mess with the dang purple crystals in the furnace. Try it! Hahaha! 5 Stars, fix glitches please

at first it is really confusing

I’ve been playing a couple of days now and visited most of the area and then the game crashed and I lost everything! My backpack was almost maxed upgraded and I had lots of weapons and now everything is gone! Now I have to start again!

This is one of the best game I have played in years except that a glitch will take away some of my stuff once in a while and I start getting random items on the ground like crystals in the beggining of the game.
